It was created in 1935 by Marjorie Henderson Buell, known as Marge. The first appearance of the character was a cartoon depicting a girl in front of the bride throwing banana peels in the hallway of a church during a wedding ceremony. His cartoons, entirely designed by Marge were published in The Saturday Evening Post until 1945. During this period were also released some books with games and hobbies with the character and his friend Tubby for children. In 45, was released by Dell Comics in his own comic, with scripts and drawings by John Stanley. After a while, Irving Tripp takes on the artistic part, leaving Stanley with just the scripts. Initially we tried to keep the same traits of Marge, but over time, resulted in a more simple, along with how gentle and soothing. Lulu has had several designers, as there are at least four styles. In the 70s, the rights to publish the figures for magazines are sold to the Western Publishing Company. The magazine was published in the United States until 1984 by the publishers Gold Key and Whitman, both also edited titles in the Disney cartoon and the characters of Walter Lantz.
